Weekly Inspiration - A fabulous DIY dining table, chalk paint effects, not forgetting some delicious recipes.

Last week I discovered a stunning DIY dining table of which the end results look as good as a design store piece. I am also excited to announce Chalk Paint™, decorative paint by Annie Sloan, will soon be arriving in Auckland...Yay! I will be revealing more in a few weeks time. Meanwhile I have been exploring the use of stencils with Chalk Paint™ and discovered a few clever ideas. A couple of delicious recipes and a few newly discovered homeware products, complete this week's round up.

Above: Becky who blogs at This is Happiness, has a very handy husband who created this beautiful dining table out of re-cycled timber, from scratch......Instructions can be found here. If you have a beach house, finishing this table with a white wash could also be an option.
Above: Chalk Paint™ effects. A gorgeous hutch dresser has been stencilled with 'A Spring time in Paris' letter stencil, a perfect finish to this French style piece.

Above: See the before and after of this wonderful vintage transitional dresser at Because I Like to Decorate. Stencil available from Royal Design Studio and is called 'Large Fabric Damask'

If you missed my last Chalk Paint™ project, a Mediterranean tray with olive branch, you may want to catch up here.

Above: What great admiration I have for Manuela Kjeilen who as well as raising 5 children, is a baker, blogger, lecturer and photographer, at Passion 4 Baking. Her easy step by step photos and recipe for this delicious Raspberry Ice cream cake can be found over at Manuela's blog

Above:  Plum, Pineapple & Date Pastry, a Polish recipe from Kwestia Smaku. You can use the translator at the top of her page for the English version.

And lastly, I spotted a few new products ....
1. Laura Ashley Best in Show Cow Mug 2. Holborn Cream Clock from Laura Ashley 3. Menara Bed from Anthropologie 4. Literally 'spotted' this cute speckled glass knob also from Anthropologie

Next week I will be sharing my latest Chalk Paint™ project. I am refinishing my mother's piano stool to use as an Ottoman in my bedroom. I have re-painted it, added a simple decorative touch and will be adding new upholstery. I hope you have enjoyed this weeks round up, there are so many wonderful discoveries out there, it is very hard to pick which ones to feature, however I am sure you enjoyed these.
