A Stockholm Home Reflects the Owners Love of Relaxed Coastal Style

Sofia Nasland is the woman behind Matilde & Co, a homeware store filled with items that reflect Sofia's love of coastal cottage style. Sofia, along with her husband Esbjörn and their two children, live in a picture perfect, New England style, two storey house by the sea. Sofia has decorated combining elements of French, English cottage and New England style for a relaxed coastal look.

Sofia and Esbjörn wanted to design and build a home that was perfect for their lifestyle. It was important they used natural materials and the design suited the outdoor living they so loved. They knew the exterior and interior would be white, however finding the perfect white was one of their hardest challenges. In the end they created their own white which is now called Vaxholm white. Throughout their two storey home, the beautiful coastal surroundings can be seen. When summer arrives, everything is on their doorstep, including their swimming pool, making summer entertaining a breeze for this young family.

    1. Well there is no reason why you cannot achieve this look in your 'interior', no matter where you live. White painted walls, light coloured floors, some rustic furniture and touches of blue and white can easily achieve this look. I am posting some updates on my living room soon which features similar colours. Of course, in respect of this home, the location is the dream, imagine living this close to the sea.
