A Hop, Skip and a Jump From the Sea Lies a Beautiful New England Style Home

I am sorry for my absence this week, an extended Easter break is my only excuse. I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter whether you headed to the beach or simply enjoyed the fresh spring air as my US readers are doing right now. Autumn or spring are both good excuses for making a few changes around the home and drawing ideas from inspiring interiors such as this New England style beauty, is a good place to start.

New England Style in West Sussex

Once in a while you come across a single image that wows you, it doesn't necessarily have to be grand mansion, it may be the simplicity but boldness of a space that makes an impression on you and when I first saw the image above,  it was wow factor and worthy of exploring more.

A Touch of New England in County Kerry, Ireland

I love New England style homes, I am so passionate about the New England look, I am currently trying to incorporate this style into my small cottage. While looking for some inspiration, I stumbled across this New England style interior. What first struck me was the unusual, large glass pendant lights in the dining area, by the time I had explored a little more, I was totally smitten.

Kelly McGuill is an interior designer, freelance editorial stylist and consultant. Bose Corporation, The Harvard Square Hotel, Accent Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens and Lexus are just a few of her elite clients. Kelly's spaces are said to reflect "clean lines and beautiful details that take your breath away". Large, wooden urn shaped lamps frame this console vignette. Glass, wood, porcelain and rattan work together harmoniously. Nothing is vying for attention, they all have their place. What a clever touch the three wooden stools add to complete this beautiful vignette.

Recently my posts have been about adding colour to your home. However, a friend pointed out, she actually loved her all white bedroom and I must admit I had to agree an all white interior can look fabulous and this New England style, riverside home in Berkshire is the perfect example. With the river at the end of the garden, an interior of shutters, white washed wood and seaside accessories, this lovely home could easily have you believing you lived beside the sea.
