This Weeks Inspiration found in Sweet Living Magazine - Crafts, DIY, Recipes & More
Jane Wrigglesworth is an editor, crafter and grower of herbs and cut flowers and gets an 'A+' from me for multi tasking. Jane writes several monthly columns including NZ Gardener magazine and other publications and also runs Plain Jane Media. Jane is also the mind behind 'Sweet Living', a free on-line magazine featuring recipes, hand made creations, decorating ideas and much more. I subscribe to Sweet Living so was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from Jane yesterday to say they had mentioned Lee Caroline in their '5 Websites they ♥', so thank you Jane, I feel honoured. I flipped through the latest magazine and found lots of great ideas... I am definitely attempting their chocolate espresso lemon tarts and will download some of their free printables.

Macrame Is Back & Setting A Trend In Our Homes
Most of us are aware trends come in full circles, what was yesterday is now today, so whats returning in 2014? I believe owls and woodland animals are taking flight but macrame is making a come back. Remember those hanging macrame planters of the 70's, well they are back with a little vibrancy and a lot of ingenuity.
Macrame is believed to have originated from 13th Century Arab weavers who originally used the knots to create fringing along the edge of hand woven fabrics. Eventually the art spread to Spain then Italy and further on to England, where it is said, Queen Mary taught the art of macrame to her ladies in waiting. Jumping a few centuries, macrame recently appeared on the Australian television series, 'The Block', where Josh and Jenna, (obviously on trend), hung a white knotted macrame planter in the corner of their bathroom. Unfortunately I couldn't find a large enough image to show you but there is a small image....here. Sometimes there isn't enough space to be able to display a plant or other bathroom accessory and a hanging macrame is the perfect solution. Another idea for its use in a bathroom would be to pop a basket inside and fill it with neatly folded hand towels or soaps for guests. Wall hangings, planters, rugs, baskets and chairs, macrame is making a comeback and I have been looking for inspiration with a 'current' feel.

Inspiration No. 6, 2013 - Neon Love, Easter Ideas, Interiors & More
Hi everyone, after a few weeks of loving pastel and stumbling across these pretty neon, glittered eggs from Tori Jayne, I started to look around for some more neon inspiration. I'm not particularly a fan of neon, however, I am only one opinion and it does have its place even in interiors. I have found some free printable gift wrap, interior, DIY Easter ideas and a recipe I thought fitting as neon...

Inspiration 5, 2013 - Pastel Inspiration, Food, Interiors and Crafts
I'm still in love with pastels after my Easter Inspiration post and consequently this week found myself drawn to all things pastel, food, interiors and crafts. On the yummy side of things this weeks discoveries, include, Banana Gelato icecream, pastel swirl cake and a simple Rice Krispie recipe, I've also found some pretty pastel interiors. We hope you had a lovely weekend, we had the prettiest blue sky today, not a cloud to be seen. I spent the morning walking round the bays but not actually entering the "Round the Bays" run. I returned home and had a big clean out of my studio and a bit of a re-shuffle. Poppy is paddling around waiting for her dinner so I better get this post published quickly before she starts to get annoyed with me ☺

Christmas Crackers - Re-inventing cheap crackers to luxurious ones
Each Christmas I make my own Christmas crackers/bon bons, this year, however, I was fast running out of time so decided to re-invent some cheap ones from the $2 shop.
What you will need:
- Cheap Christmas crackers (I got 6 for $2 total)
- 1 sheet of wrapping paper of your own choice (I chose cream with gold cherubs) (1 metre sheet does 6 crackers easily).
- Scissors
- Narrow double sided tape
- Ribbon of your choice (I used some black organza)
- Embellishments (ideas here), this year I used old broken vintage jewellery and some faux pearls.
- Hot glue gun if using embellishments.
- Token fillings such as chocolates (Hershey's kisses are good en mass, or they hold around 3 Ferrero Rocher chocolates). Little key rings, earrings, pens whatever you can find that will fit in. Usually they contain a folded paper hat, joke and token gift. Often you can find little things in the $2 shop at the same time.
1. Snip off the original ties and open the cracker to empty the contents if you are replacing with your own little tokens or chocolates. I prefer to use my own contents.
2. Cut your paper to fit you want it to go around the cylnder but overlap around 3/4" as when you pull it in with ribbon it will shrink slightly and you want the outer paper slightly longer or the same as the inner card.
3. Place a strip of double sided tape along one side about 1" from each end
4. Roll the paper around the cylnder allowing it to stick to the double sided tape
5. Cut two pieces of ribbon per cracker to tie at each end, allow enough to tie a decent little bow
6. Place the ribbon exactly where the original cracker has its indent and tie tightly, turn the cracker over to make sure the ribbon is pulled in tightly all the way around. Then tie your bow and snip off the excess.
7. Repeat at the other end.
8. Add your embellishment - I added another strip of ribbon which I hot glued in place (be careful with gauzy ribbon). I then glued a single large pearl on the top for a simple look.
How pretty they look on a plate.
