An Italian style Villa in Greece

Of course a Greek bathroom has to be marble

Today I thought I'd whisk you away to the blue skies and azure seas of Greece, where a short stroll away from the port of hydra, lies a stunning, 18th Century, stone mansion. Originally designed by Genovese architects, hence its likeness to an Italian villa, the mansion perches on a hillside with country and coastal views.

Mandalay (as it is named), is 630 square metres of stunning architecture, originally built for a major ship-owning family as their home. Furthermore, if you have more than a few million to spend, Mandalay is currently for sale with Christies ($5,993,877USD)...I'll have two please, if I win the lottery that is.

Above: perched on a hillside with magnificent views of surrounding Athens, lies Mandalay. You could easily feel like your in Italy
Above: Every villa needs a pool and this one is in a perfect shady spot to escape Athens summer heat
Above: A stunning wooden ceiling soars above this living space. I love how the decor in this room has been kept simple and not overly ornate as the ceiling itself is the statement in this space
Above: A mix of furnishing in this eclectic space. A contemporary glass topped table mixed with antique, Chinese chairs
Above: Again those wonderful wooden ceilings. Stone flagged floors bring a much needed coolness to the floors in summer
Above: A simple, white bedroom. The large windows take in the surrounding countryside
Above: The perfect spot to while away your worries, gazing out to the azure blue of the distant sea

I hope you enjoyed a tour of this wonderful home and of course if you are in the market for a mansion in Greece then hop over to Christies (link above) to read more.
