Merry Xmas - Welcome to My Home

Well, its finally here, Christmas day in New Zealand, one day ahead of most of you. The aroma of my roast Turkey with cranberries and walnuts fills the air, my mini Christmas mince pies are ready, and the table is set with some of my mothers beautiful vintage silver and china. This will be my first Christmas without my mother, I miss her terribly but I'm sure she's watching over. So, while I'm waiting  for my guests to arrive I thought my readers might like a quick tour of my living room on Christmas day...

Oh and Poppy wants to wish all my readers a very Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year. I'll be  having a break for a few days but will be back later this week. You can still catch up with snippets on my Face Book page.

  1. Oooooo, everything looks so bright and fresh and pretty! I love the all the green plants added in everywhere, and the blue and white pillows in the mix. I know this is your first Christmas without your mom, but sounds like you know she's there in spirit with you, and so cool that you are using her vintage silver and china. Sounds like you must be a wonderful cook... Roast turkey with cranberries and walnuts, oh my....

    1. Thanks Cindy for your comment, the stuffing I made was delicious, will post my recipe next year. Everyone eats more of the stuffing than the do the turkey...or does that mean my turkey is not the best...ha..ha.

Hope you have a lovely Christmas day.

  3. Hi Lee,
I know how hard that first Christmas can be. You are doing her great honor and I'm sure she is so proud of her little girl. So fresh and serene, done with blue and white one of my favorites!
Just lovely! Wishing you a happy and blessed new year.
    Hugs,
    Patti

  4. Lee, thank you for opening your beautiful home to us for the holidays! I adore the light, and you decorated it so perfectly, it's just how I would have imagined a New Zealand Christmas should be. I know your mom is surely watching down on you and sending her love each and every day. It never gets easier, I know I miss mine each holiday. But it always helps to know they are in our hearts.

    1. I have no idea how I missed these two comments, I was updating some images and spotted two comments I hadn't replied too. Thank you so much about the kind words of my mother and the encouragement. It is actually 2 years later and it is only just getting easier but I still miss her daily, it is just not so painful. I hope you get to see this message even though it is so late.
