A Designers Farmhouse in Sierra De Tramontana

When renovating an older building, yet introducing a contemporary feel, it should be done with respect, I don't think it is an easy task for an architect or interior designer to get the balance right. However, in the case of this Mallorcan home with its mountain outlook, Damian Sanchez and his designers, achieved what I think is the perfect balance.

Interior designer, industrial designer and the man behind acasabianca.com, Damian Sanchez fell instantly in love with this old farmhouse from the first moment laid eyes on it. With a large renovation to tackle, he called upon his friends Santos-Gabriel and Susanna Thomas to help with the design. Damian's brief was to retain the original Bealeric architecture, yet take on a modern approach. It was important to use natural materials in the renovation and keep the tones neutral so Damian was able to display his many object d'art.

I am fascinated by every room in this house.  Damian's love of natural materials and industrial design is clear in some spaces, yet others reflect tradition with a contemporary twist, and it all seems to blend together perfectly.
