The fastest way to update a bedroom is to change your duvet and throw pillows, however, if you do introduce a change of colour and pattern, remember you could change the overall feeling of the room. I purposely wanted to take my bedroom from coastal to country and have been seeking some black and white inspiration.

A Reflection of 2012 - & Most Popular Posts
Looking back at 2012 it's been one of the toughest of my life. Watching my mother lose her battle with cancer, my life has virtually been on hold. However, this blog "Lee Caroline - A World of Inspiration", has kept me going, it has been an inspiration not just for my readers but for myself too. LC has been an outlet for my semi starved, creative side, a place to share the wonderful interiors, recipes, art, crafts and DIY I discover in my daily trips around the Internet. More importantly, I've discovered a world of wonderful and caring people, total strangers that drop by from afar taking time to comment on a postm and people giving encouragement, sharing a little of their lives with you. I just want to say, you have no idea how much this has meant to me. I have not met you personally, but I've felt encouraged and uplifted and at times consoled through the comments and sometimes personal emails I get from those who have been touched in some way by something they have read or seen on my blog.
2013 will be a new year for me, a new beginning and I have vowed to spend equal time on my blog and my painting. I'm finally purchasing that elusive DSLR in February. My new camera will enable me to share high quality images of homes and beautiful things that I see in New Zealand. I am quite excited about this and have lots of great posts planned. Looking back over 2013 I've made a short list of some of my most viewed posts to share again. I want to thank everyone for their support throughout 2012 and I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Looking For Some Bedroom Inspiration
Looking for some fresh ideas to update my own bedroom I came across some great images. I featured my own bedroom last year when I re-created a French Country look, if you didn't see last years makeover you can see it "here". My quilt was floral in the makeover but now I'm looking for a more neutral look and inspired by some of the rooms below...
And for those of you that like colour and pattern....
To colour or not to colour, what's your choice?

Country Cottage Bedroom Ideas
As my post on bedheads seemed to quickly make it to my "Most Popular Posts" (see my side bar), and I have still not completed my own bedroom, I've been searching the Internet for more ideas and want to share my discoveries. I was seeking more the "cottage look" than a "French Look" although there is a "smattering" of French to be seen. Nevertheless a few more gorgeous ideas to get you thinking.

This room is very fresh and pretty and certainly doesnt need a fancy headboard with its blue toile roman blinds adding interest on either side of the bed. A couple of pale blue transfer ware plates could be hung on the wall behind the bed or a couple of frames with similar prints such as the one below with a soft blue print;

Frame from Sew White a little home run on-line store with lots of goodies. I like to support these smaller stores.

I adore the lovely wooden ceilings. If I ever built new I would certainly want to have the beams exposed and aged.

Wallace Cotton have a sale on at the moment and some really lovely bed linen so worth hopping over to their on-line store if you cannot visit their Newmarket store in Auckland. Please click on the photo or link above.
