As an artist I am not the "norm", if you look around my home I'm surrounded by neutral decor. However the wonderful thing is I can easily and quickly introduce colour with the use of accessories enabling me in a jiffy to change the mood of a room. Today I'm sharing some magical, colourful interiors to inspire you.
Clever use of colour and pattern all add to a Moroccan feeling in this interior - Image via Hog Art Total
This gorgeous room is from Gary Riggs Interiors. Purple is a vivid colour and not easy to use in a living area. However, mixed with opulent gold, the neutral sofa and the purple painting, like magic it all comes together.
Another opulent but more subtle combination of colour and pattern. The blue of the circular ottoman works wonderfully with the blue from the rug beneath - Photo source via Bonjour Girl Blogspot
In NZ right now these colours are so out there. In fact my eldest son who works in the fashion industry turned up at my house yesterday wearing a pair of trousers the exact blue of the jacket above - This image is from Pinterest and traced back to "The girl with the popped collar"

I love the color of that blue jacket! As well as the green one!
ReplyDeleteIt's always neat to see colorful homes/rooms. I'm not sure I could make it work to suit me everyday, but they are fun.
I agree Tea as a "neutral" girl at heart but these all work wonderfully. Thank you for your comments :)
