Happy Valentines & Some Pretty Valentines Candy Bark

Happy Valentines Day, I wish everyone a day filled with love and happiness. I made some pretty Valentines bark to share with friends, you will find the recipe below. Last minute, only 3 ingredients and can be assembled in no time at all, it just needs 40 minutes in the fridge to set completely.

I haven't had a Valentines surprise yet but was pleasantly surprised to see that Lee Caroline hit half a million page views yesterday☺.

Valentine Candy Bark

Ingredients:

1 packet of 250grams dark chocolate melts
1 packet of 250 grams white chocolate melts
Red food colouring or red chocolate colouring
Silver edible decorative balls or little red decorative hearts

Method:
  • Melt the dark chocolate by placing it in a bowl over some simmering water and stir until all lumps are eliminated.
  • Take a metal cookie tray and cover with a sheet of cooking parchment paper/grease proof paper
  • Pour your dark chocolate over spreading into a rectangular shape using a spatula
  • Place the chocolate into the freezer to allow it to set fairly quickly (approximately 15 minutes in the freezer, longer in the fridge)
  • Melt your white chocolate drops and add about 4 small drops of red food colouring, stir well until colour and chocolate blended
  • Spread your pink chocolate over the top of the dark chocolate, start in the middle and spread it out to the edges, be careful to work fairly quickly so as not to melt and mix in the chocolate underneath
  • Sprinkle with your silver balls or little red hearts or whatever you choose for your decoration and then place in the fridge to harden, around 40 minutes
  • Remove from fridge, peel off the backing parchment and cut up or break into shards of whatever size you like
  • Package in cellophane favour bags and tie with a pretty red ribbon if you want to give them as gifts.

Note:  They can melt in hot weather so best to keep in the fridge until you need them

You can also find a recipe for Rocky Road Bark which gives simple instructions on melting the chocolate or more yummy recipes on my Sweet delights page.

Happy Valentines
