Opening the Doors Of A Wisteria Covered Country Home

There is no denying that I am country girl at heart so when I spotted this wisteria covered house, I couldn't resist a peek inside. A totally unspoilt Georgian home set in 20 acres of woodlands and paddocks...sigh! Inside, these period homes can be quite dark, however this Georgian home has been brightened by predominantly using light neutral colours on the walls, the perfect foil for the owners antiques.

A stunning brass chandelier greets its guests in the welcoming entrance way

A pair of contemporary silver lamps make a statement

Blue has been introduced in the country style kitchen. A wonderful  Aga is situated in the corner. Aga's in the UK not only provide heat for cooking but usually these days fire up the central heating too

Two relaxed dining areas in this large kitchen. Country kitchens are often used for less formal dining

The relaxed dining area of the kitchen leads to a wonderful conservatory

Conservatories such as this were popular in Georgian and Victorian times and today are the perfect place for year round entertaining

A cosy, relaxed living area. Natural floorboards have been retained choosing to use rugs to add warmth

Contemporary art mixed with more traditional pieces makes an interesting backdrop

Another small conservatory to catch the morning sun
