Blue & White & Georgica Pond

Last year I came across 'Georgica Pond', a website run by Australian Designer/Blogger Melinda who has a self confessed addiction to blue and white. More recently I spotted her home in the May issue of Australian 'Home Beautiful' which is a magazine I find so inspiring. A busy mum with three young children, Melinda magically found the time to transform her Cape Cod style house with the colours and style she so loves. It is the story of this renovation that inspired her blog 'Georgica Pond' which spread quickly around the world. Melinda's style has become so popular that she has created her business, Georgica Pond Interiors where she says she "brings classic American style to Australian homes.

More recently Melinda, Tom and her family reluctantly parted from their old home desiring a new challenge. Moving to the the Southern Highlands, they have bought a 5 acre property with an original old homestead complete with soaring ceilings. They plan to renovate and document their new journey on Georgica Pond and I can't wait to see their progress. Meanwhile, because I too have a passion for blue and white which features in my living room, I wanted to share some images from Melinda's former home, beautifully decorated and encompassing her passion for blue and white in classic American style.

As you can see from above, Melinda has a great eye for detail and knows exactly how to work with blue and white to create an interesting and stylish interior that I feel is timeless. It will be interesting to see what Melinda will do with her new home. Will her coastal style extend to the country or will she take on a new look?

If you want to see more images of Melinda's gorgeous home or follow her new journey, you can visit here -Oh! and if you want to know the paint colours she has used, Melinda created a page which lists all the paint colours, really helpful if you want to re-create this lovely coastal look.

For Pinterest/Blog etiquette, please only pin images from Georgica Pond Interiors, their original source☺

  1. I'm loving all these dark blue accents and the wallpaper is fabulous. Note to self: shop for wallpaper.

    1. Thanks Melanie for taking time to comment, wallpapers these days are fantastic, the choice is amazing and the right paper in a bedroom can look stunning behind a bed. I think it is great if used moderately in a home, I don't like to see wallpaper everywhere, an accent wall will usually suffice. I plan to use wallpaper in my entry way when I get around to re-decorating it.
