I came across this lakeside cottage last week and knew immediately I wanted to share it with my readers. Unfortunately there are not very many photos but the ones I found should be inspiring to those of you who love a relaxed, Hamptons/coastal style.
No matter your personal style, I believe that starting with a neutral palette allows far more options when it comes down to furnishing and enables you to update a room more easily. This lakeside cottage is relaxed, modern but still has a traditional feel to it because the designer has blended styles traditional and modern furniture that work beautifully together.
With an all white interior it's important to introduce texture as can be seen by the rug, stools and wicker suspension light. The key to good design is to introduce materials that will add interest and character to a room yet compliment each other. The silver and glass, circular coffee table is definitely 'out of the box' for a cottage, however, the designer has balanced it with the large porthole style mirror on the adjacent wall. This home is understated, yet at the same time it is homely and inviting and I love it and only wish I had more images to share with you.
