Pantone pick the colour and the trends follow and for the first time ever, 2016 is a duo combination, the blending of two beautiful soft shades that will be making their way into fashion, interiors, homeware and more.
Each year Pantone select a new colour palette and a colour for the year, they say this is a "snapshot of what we see taking place in our culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude". For 2016 they have selected two beautifully soft shades, Rose Quartz and Serenity. Pantone state, "Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace. "Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times."

The colour combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity are soft, serene and undoubtedly feminine. From a personal choice, I don't have these colours in my home but I can't wait to see this duo on the catwalks as I would definitely wear them and imagine something floaty in silk.
