Looking For Some Bedroom Inspiration

Looking for some fresh ideas to update my own bedroom I came across some great images. I featured my own bedroom last year when I re-created a French Country look, if you didn't see last years makeover you can see it "here".  My quilt was floral in the makeover but now I'm looking for a more neutral look and inspired by some of the rooms below...

To colour or not to colour, what's your choice?

    1. The second one is very romantic isn't it Suzy. I have roman blinds in the same pattern as the small sofa chair in this room. I also want to do all my floorboards white as they are more of a reddish wood, they are New Zealand Matai wood. I would love to have them sanded back and then a white wash put over so the grain still shows through. At the moment I have a sisal look carpet in my bedroom. Maybe this Summer I might be brave enough, it means moving everything out the house that's the only thing that is putting me off...the mess!

    2. and that's the only thing that's delaying my choice to paint the floors - nowhere to put everything in the interim LOL

  2. Those all look like beautiful, calm rooms. I am just in the process of giving our room a makeover. I set myself the challenge of using only handmade and vintage pieces in it... I'm almost finished and can't wait to share it!

    1. Thank you so much, if you have dark walls you would be astounded the difference it will make to paint them in a lighter colour. It will open your room up incredibly...."GO FOR IT!"...and send me your before and afters :)

  4. Bedrooms are so personal. These are all beautiful. As is my typical style, I have white walls and a white bedspread, and then add color and pattern by way of pillows, my Kantha throw, furniture etc. I'm sure whatever you decide will be gorgeous. x

  5. Your room sounds lovely and restful, I love white walls and hope to paint mine white, they are 1/4 parchment by resene but somehow turned out a lot darker than I had thought. I will post my makeover when its done. I agree adding colour and pattern by throws and pillows is the easiest and most economical way.

  6. What a delight it was today to receive your lovely comment Lee and so happy to meet you this way. I am so sorry to read of the loss of your mother but how wonderful that you have some of her lovely things to wear, I often remember some of the party dresses my mother used to wear and would love to have them as they hold such good memories. Yes, the oxfords are back full force and I can't think of a more wonderful pair to wear than those from your mother's closet. Maybe you can wear them to Paris one day? Happy weekend and thank you again for such a beautiful comment. xx

    1. Thank you so much for your lovely reply to my comment, it made my day ☺ I also found some gorgeous lace crocheted tops and a cardigan of my mums. This summer in NZ crochet seems to be back so I am excited to be able to wear these too. Maybe your right, maybe I will be able to wear them to Paris one day, I will most definitely be heading there at some point.

Thank you so much for visiting and spending the time to comment.
