In a recent post "Boring Beige, Never!", I featured a fabulous neutral interior in an interesting Manhattan apartment. Continuing to steer away from colour for a moment, this weeks inspiration starts with a great idea from "An Oregon Cottage", a plain drum lampshade has been cleverly upcycled using natural twine. With a little help from Pinterest, keeping to a "neutral" theme I discovered more crafty ideas. Some free labels from Vinnie Pearce a fellow Kiwi blogger, a few recipes with earthy colours but definitely sweet tasting and some inspiring interiors.

We hope you've been inspired, if you love neutrals, you can visit my Pinterest board to see lots more inspiring images.
I definitely think the key to neutral interiors is lots of texture, which these spaces all have. x
ReplyDeleteI agree Vic, I am currently removing my blue and white summer cushions from my living room to replace with a neutral beige/natural colours but in lots of different patterns and textures. I have this fabulous vintage fur coat of my mothers I am thinking of having made into a throw if I can find anyone to do this for me.

I love last two pictures, definitely my taste:)
ReplyDeleteMine too Anna, I am gradually turning my little Kiwi cottage into a little bit of France. I love anything with a French feel and I love "natural" textures and colours.

Isn't it wonderful Cindy, I think its possibly a "faux" paper but not too sure. There is a wallpaper you can obtain now which looks just like weathered boards and is so convincing that you have to walk up and touch it before you realise its not the real deal!
