Tablescapes - Inspiration With Flowers.

If I am having friends for lunch or dinner, I love to dress up my table, I won't be shy in saying it makes me smile when they comment favourably. I want to make people feel good and a beautiful table does have a rebound effect, it helps start conversation, and fresh flowers are always uplifting.

It was a conversation with a friend this morning that had me thinking about pretty tablescapes. My friend had been helping to decorate one of the houses in the Christmas homes tour and was telling me how they had worked with flowers. After our conversation, I couldn't get my mind off tablescapes and flowers, so I postponed today's original post and did a mad dash around the web. Definitely for me it is a little early to be sharing Christmas ideas, so instead I have found some spring/summer tables, that would bring a smile, any time of year.

Then fill most of the spaces in between with your favourite flower heads. I love how they have added height by using long stemmed flowers at the top, Delphiniums would look gorgeous, in fact any garden flowers.

When creating a pretty tablescape you can use any items you have around your home, don't rush out and buy new tableware. Make do with what you have, use a little decorative flair and most of all, incorporate fresh flowers or foliage from your garden or florist.

Next month I will share some Christmas inspiration, meanwhile you may want to view more ideas on my Pinterest board.
