Character Abounds in the Interior Design of a Beachside Home

Shying away from blue and white in favour of green and yellow and adding a touch of dusky blue/grey, a beach side cottage makes a statement of its own.

The interior design of this Amelia Island home is by Atlanta designer, Liz Williams InteriorsLiz's interior design statement is a "mix of traditional and contemporary design elements with fresh ideas". Liz's original approach reflects in the unique look of each room in this seaside home.

It is said, when decorating a smaller home that it is best to keep a colour scheme uniform throughout but I disagree, as long as the walls remain neutral, I think allowing each room a little individuality is important. Liz takes a mix of old and new and lots of interesting shapes that catch ones eye. Her attention to detail is obvious spotting the pretty wee shells that decorate the edge of the linen curtains in one of the bedrooms. Take your time to look over these images, I spotted a few ideas I would love to incorporate in my home, in fact I have already bought a new duvet inspired by the black and white guest bedroom.

I hope you have a lovely weekend wherever you are in the world. We are feeling the winter in Auckland, however the summer images above have me counting down the months in our hemisphere until Spring arrives.

  1. Hi Lee, love this home, and the change from blue/white to the pops of green. Very restful.
