Art can make your home shine and put the finishing touches to a room but I believe that if you are going to invest in artwork, go big, go bold and let your art make a statement. What are you passionate about in life, maybe you love flowers and nature, horses or dancing or you may have a love of the countryside or ocean. If you select art that reflects what you love about life, you are unlikely to tire of it.
If you have large empty walls in your home then buy large artwork, it will make far more impact than small scale art. Alternatively you could group differnt pieces together to create a gallery look but I personally prefer one stunning large scale art. All the artwork I selected today looks fabulous in it's setting, from the Appaloosa photography in the bedroom to the large scale portrait of the young girl and her dog.
If you want tips on selecting and hanging art, you may find this post useful, "How to Select the Perfect Artwork for Your Home". In this post you will find out the correct height for hanging a painting, info on watercolours versus oils, lighting and how to buy original artwork at affordable prices. If you cannot afford an original painting, prints are a good option as there are many well known artists that now publish limited editions of their work. Thomas Darnell is one such artist that paints amazing large scale florals, landscapes and some stunning abstracts. More recently, Thomas has made his work available as limited edition prints.
Gosh, i can't believe how long it's been since i've been here! Love all of these!
